Vin Sur Vingt Adds a Wine Shop on the Upper West Side
The small chain of French wine bars opened Le French Wine Shop, which stocks only French wine.

Vin sur Vingt, a group of French wine bars in New York with a branch in Washington, D.C., has added an Upper West Side wine shop. Sébastien Auvet, the managing partner for the group, started a wine club connected to the bars a few years ago and has followed that program with this new resource. The store stocks only French wines, no spirits or aperitifs, and hundreds of them are arranged by region with most priced from $13 to $400. “French wine can be intimidating,” Mr. Auvet said. “We’re trying to democratize them.” The store, managed by Tucker Hurley, holds tastings several times a week and will offer subscriptions later this year.
