Le French Wine Club is the monthly French wine subscription from Le French Wine Shop, an independent wine shop at 161 Amsterdam Avenue in New York City. Every month our wine experts hand-select 2 or 3 French bottles matched to the taste profile you complete at sign-up, and deliver them to your door with free shipping. Memberships start at $59 per month across three tiers - Bienvenue, Savoir Vivre and Exception - and you can pause, skip or cancel at any time from your account.

Le French Wine Club costs between $59 and $189 per month depending on the tier and the number of bottles you choose. Shipping is always included:

• Bienvenue - $59/month for 2 bottles, $79/month for 3 bottles
• Savoir Vivre - $89/month for 2 bottles, $119/month for 3 bottles
• Exception - $149/month for 2 bottles, $189/month for 3 bottles

There is no delivery fee and no minimum number of months. You can compare the three tiers before you join.

The three Le French Wine Club tiers differ by the level of the bottles selected, not by the level of care:

• Bienvenue (from $59/month) is the introduction to French wine - classic regions, styles and grape varieties, chosen to build your confidence.
• Savoir Vivre (from $89/month) is a more elevated selection of expressive wines with character, balance and a strong sense of terroir, for dinners and everyday art de vivre.
• Exception (from $149/month) is our most exclusive tier - exceptional producers, limited releases and wines with real depth, complexity and story.

Members can switch between tiers at any time.

Every bottle is chosen by the wine experts at Le French Wine Shop - the same buyers who stock the shop floor in New York - rather than by an algorithm, so you receive wines that a specialist has actually tasted, vetted for provenance and matched to your taste profile. Membership also includes free shipping on your Wine Club box and on every other order you place from your account, 10% off all Le French Wine Shop purchases, 10% off at all five Vin sur Vingt wine bars, discounted access to exclusive tastings, and the guaranteed early-bird price on every Vin sur Vingt Wine Dinner Series event. Because our buyers work directly with small French producers, members regularly discover bottles that are not on a supermarket shelf.

No. Monthly Le French Wine Club memberships have no minimum commitment and no contract - you can pause, skip a delivery or cancel at any time from your Wine Club account. The only exception is prepaid gift memberships, which run for the fixed term you purchase (1, 3, 6 or 12 months) and cannot be cancelled mid-term.

The wines are chosen by the wine experts and sommeliers at Le French Wine Shop in New York. Each month the team curates a rotating selection of quality French producers across both classic and emerging regions - tasting the wines, vetting provenance and prioritising responsible farming - then matches that selection to the taste profile of each member. Nothing is automated and nothing is a leftover: the club selection is built by the same people who buy for the shop.

You do not pick individual bottles - the discovery is the point - but you shape every box. At sign-up you tell Le French Wine Club three things: how many bottles you want (2 or 3), which types of wine you enjoy (red, white, rose, sparkling, orange, or "surprise me!" - you can select several), and your primary wine occasions (everyday enjoyment, friends get-together, date night, special occasion, holiday celebration or wine tasting - also multi-select). Our wine experts then curate that month's selection against your profile.

You receive either 2 or 3 bottles per month, and you choose the quantity when you join. Every tier - Bienvenue, Savoir Vivre and Exception - is available in both a 2-bottle and a 3-bottle format, and members can switch between membership levels at any time.

Yes. Every bottle in Le French Wine Club comes from France. The selection spans the classic regions - Bordeaux, Burgundy, the Rhone, the Loire, Champagne, Provence, Alsace - as well as emerging appellations and small growers who are less widely distributed in the United States.

Le French Wine Club ships to ten US destinations: Alaska, Connecticut, Florida, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Wyoming and Washington, D.C. Ordering restrictions may apply in some of these locations because of state liquor laws. We do not ship internationally, and we cannot deliver to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, third-party mailbox rental centres, hotels or restaurants. If your state is not on the list, email bonjour@lefrenchwineshop.com and we will let you know when we expand.

Le French Wine Club members are charged automatically on the 1st of every month, and that month's bottles are delivered to your door within 15 days of the charge. You will receive a confirmation email when your order is prepared and a second email with tracking when it ships.

Yes. Shipping is complimentary on every Le French Wine Club delivery, and it is also free on any other order you place from your member account at lefrenchwineshop.com. There is no delivery fee for members anywhere we ship - in New York City or in any of the other states we serve.

Yes. By law, every wine delivery requires the signature of an adult aged 21 or over with valid ID, and packages cannot be left unattended. If you miss the delivery, our carrier will attempt redelivery up to three times, and you will usually find a notice at your door. In New York City, an undelivered order is returned to the shop at 161 Amsterdam Avenue for free pickup.

To protect the wine, Le French Wine Shop may postpone, adjust or cancel a shipment when temperatures are unsuitable - below 25F or above 88F. If you ask us to ship anyway despite a weather warning, we cannot accept returns or refunds for bottles spoiled by those conditions. Full details are in our shipping policy.

Sign in to your Wine Club account at lefrenchwineshop.com/pages/wine-club-orders and cancel there. Cancellation is self-service - no phone call or email needed - and you can do it at any time, with no minimum commitment. Prepaid gift memberships cannot be cancelled; they run for the term purchased and then end automatically.

Yes. You can pause your membership or skip an individual delivery at any time from your Wine Club account - useful if you are travelling, still working through last month's bottles, or want to time a delivery around a trip. Restart whenever you like; your taste profile is kept.

Yes. Members can move between Bienvenue, Savoir Vivre and Exception at any time, and change between the 2-bottle and 3-bottle format, from their Wine Club account. The new tier applies from your next monthly charge on the 1st.

Le French Wine Club offers prepaid gift memberships paid upfront for a fixed term of 1, 3, 6 or 12 months, available in all three tiers and in both the 2-bottle and 3-bottle format - from $59 for a single month up to $2,268 for a year of Exception with 3 bottles. At checkout you enter the recipient's delivery address, and you can include a personalised card with your own message.

No. A prepaid Le French Wine Club membership ends automatically at the close of the term you purchased - there is no auto-renewal and no charge to the recipient. Prepaid plans also cannot be cancelled mid-term. If the recipient wants to continue afterwards, they can start a standard monthly membership at any time.
