DESCRIPTION

Château La Vieille Cure is a powerful and elegant red wine from the Fronsac appellation, known for producing some of Bordeaux's best-value Right Bank wines. Made predominantly from Merlot with smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, this cuvée delivers intensity, structure, and depth. Ripe fruit, velvety tannins, and refined oak aging create a wine of balance and sophistication - a benchmark example of modern Fronsac excellence.

EYE

Deep garnet-red with violet highlights, dense and brilliant, showing concentration and youth.

NOSE

Rich and complex, with aromas of black cherry, cassis, and plum, enhanced by notes of licorice, cedar, and cocoa. Subtle hints of spice and minerality bring depth and precision.

MOUTH

Full-bodied and powerful, yet remarkably smooth. Layers of dark fruit, mocha, and graphite unfold over fine-grained tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long, elegant, and perfectly balanced — combining richness, freshness, and finesse.

PAIRING

Perfect with roasted lamb, grilled beef, venison, or duck breast. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses, truffle dishes, or mushroom-based cuisine — ideal for elegant dinners and cellar aging.

Château La Vieille Cure

Situated on the limestone plateau of Fronsac, Château La Vieille Cure has a winemaking history dating back to the 18th century. The 20-hectare estate was revitalized in the 1980s under new ownership, with major vineyard and cellar improvements that elevated it to one of the top names in the appellation. The estate practices sustainable viticulture and precise vinification, producing structured, age-worthy wines that rival many classified growths of Saint-Émilion.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
