DESCRIPTION

Les Allées de Cantemerle is the second wine of Château Cantemerle and reflects the elegance and finesse that define this historic Haut-Médoc estate. The 2019 vintage offers ripe dark berry fruit, soft spice, and a refined tannic structure shaped by gentle extraction. On the palate, the wine is smooth and balanced, with vibrant acidity bringing freshness and lift. Harmonious and approachable, it combines accessibility with a clear sense of classical Left Bank character. Enjoyable now, it also benefits from short-term cellaring.

EYE

A deep ruby-red color with subtle garnet hues, showing both youthful vibrancy and underlying structure, while the clarity in the glass reflects precise winemaking and careful élevage.

NOSE

The bouquet opens with blackcurrant, dark cherry, and plum, layered with hints of cedar, fresh tobacco leaf, and gentle spice, creating a refined aromatic profile that is both inviting and classically Médocain.

MOUTH

On the palate, the wine is smooth and well-structured, with polished tannins supporting ripe fruit. Fresh acidity brings lift and balance, leading to a persistent and harmonious finish that emphasizes elegance over power.

PAIRING

This wine pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, grilled meats, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses. Its poise and finesse make it suitable for both relaxed meals and more refined dining occasions.

Château Cantemerle

Located in the Haut-Médoc and classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, Château Cantemerle is known for producing wines defined by finesse, balance, and aromatic elegance. Les Allées de Cantemerle is crafted with the same care as the grand vin, offering a more immediately accessible expression of the estate’s style through thoughtful vineyard management and traditional winemaking.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
