DESCRIPTION

Château de Villegeorge L'Étoile de Villegeorge is a refined Haut-Médoc wine that embodies the precision and elegance of Bordeaux's Left Bank. Crafted predominantly from Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of Merlot, this cuvée offers a harmonious balance of ripe fruit, structure, and finesse. Aged in French oak barrels, it reveals the distinctive character of its gravelly terroir - both powerful and graceful, with remarkable length and depth.

EYE

Deep ruby with garnet highlights, the wine exhibits a brilliant clarity and viscosity, suggesting both concentration and maturity.

NOSE

The bouquet is elegant and complex, opening with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, intertwined with notes of cedar, tobacco, and graphite. Subtle hints of vanilla and spice from oak aging add sophistication and depth.

MOUTH

On the palate, it is full-bodied yet refined, with silky tannins and a precise structure. Layers of dark fruit, mocha, and dried herbs unfold gracefully, balanced by fresh acidity. The finish is long and persistent, marked by mineral and savory undertones — a hallmark of great Médoc terroir.

PAIRING

An excellent match for roasted lamb, grilled steak, or duck breast with red wine sauce. It also pairs beautifully with earthy dishes such as mushroom risotto or aged cheeses like Comté and Cantal. Serve at 16–18°C to fully appreciate its depth and aromatic complexity.

Château de Villegeorge

Château de Villegeorge, a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the Haut-Médoc, is managed by the esteemed winemaker Marie-Laure Lurton. Known for sustainable vineyard practices and a focus on elegance, the estate produces wines that balance structure, freshness, and refinement, earning a strong reputation within Bordeaux’s Left Bank.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
