DESCRIPTION

The Pessac-Léognan Grand Cru Classé de Graves Château Pape Clément is a masterpiece of balance, complexity, and refinement. Among Bordeaux’s oldest estates, its deep gravel soils yield a Cabernet Sauvignon– and Merlot-based blend of remarkable depth and character. Aged in French oak barrels, it reveals layers of dark fruit, graphite, and spice framed by velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Powerful yet exquisitely polished, this iconic wine epitomizes the elegance and longevity of the finest Graves.

EYE

Deep garnet-red color with violet hues, showing brilliance and concentration.

NOSE

Expressive aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and violet, enhanced by notes of cedar, tobacco, and subtle toast.

MOUTH

Rich and harmonious, with dense fruit, fine-grained tannins, and beautifully integrated oak. Flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, and spice unfold into a long, refined finish marked by freshness and depth. A wine of precision and grandeur with excellent aging potential.

PAIRING

Ideal with roast lamb, filet mignon, or duck breast in red wine sauce. It also pairs beautifully with truffle dishes or aged cheeses such as Comté and Beaufort.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
