DESCRIPTION

Lillet Rouge is a classic French apéritif wine, crafted from a blend of Bordeaux wines and fruit liqueurs, then aged in oak barrels to develop depth and complexity. Smooth, aromatic, and slightly bitter, it is perfect served chilled on its own, over ice with an orange slice, or as a key ingredient in cocktails.

EYE

This apéritif shows a deep ruby-red color with garnet reflections, bright and elegant in the glass.

NOSE

The bouquet is rich and aromatic, offering notes of ripe berries, orange peel, and cinnamon. Subtle hints of vanilla and spice from oak aging add depth and warmth.

MOUTH

On the palate, it is smooth and round, with flavors of dark fruit, citrus zest, and gentle spice. Balanced sweetness and a slight bitterness lead to a long, elegant finish.

PAIRING

Perfect served over ice with orange or mixed into cocktails such as a Lillet Rouge & Tonic. It also pairs well with charcuterie, pâtés, or dark chocolate desserts.

Maison Lillet

Founded in 1872, Lillet is produced in Podensac, south of Bordeaux, and remains one of the most emblematic apéritifs of France. Combining high-quality wines with fruit infusions, the house has maintained its reputation for elegance and conviviality. Lillet Blanc is its most famous expression, known for its freshness, balance, and versatility.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
