DESCRIPTION

Château de Sales embodies the elegance and charm of Pomerol, producing wines that balance richness with remarkable finesse. The estate's gravel and clay soils, planted primarily with Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, give rise to a wine of supple texture and depth. Aged in French oak barrels, it reveals generous fruit, refined tannins, and a harmonious structure. Both approachable in youth and capable of graceful aging, Château de Sales captures the classic, understated style of Pomerol.

EYE

Brilliant garnet-red color with ruby highlights, reflecting both youth and concentration.

NOSE

Expressive aromas of ripe red berries, plum, and black cherry, enhanced by notes of cedar, spice, and a touch of truffle.

MOUTH

Silky and well-rounded on the palate, with layers of juicy fruit and fine-grained tannins. Subtle hints of cocoa and tobacco complement a long, elegant finish marked by freshness and balance.

PAIRING

Perfect with roasted lamb, duck breast with red wine sauce, or mushroom-based dishes. It also pairs beautifully with soft-ripened cheeses like Brie de Meaux or Saint-Marcellin.

Château de Sales

Château de Sales is the largest estate in the Pomerol appellation and has been family-owned for over five centuries. Known for its traditional winemaking and deep respect for the land, the château produces wines that emphasize balance, freshness, and purity of fruit. Its long history and consistent quality make it one of the most emblematic properties in Pomerol.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
