DESCRIPTION

La Sirène de Giscours is the second wine of Château Giscours from the Margaux appellation in Bordeaux. It takes its name “La Sirène” (meaning “mermaid”) is inspired by the historic emblem of Château Giscours, which features a siren figure. It also draws from a legend, telling of someone who witnessed a mermaid swimming in the Châteaux’s lake.

Crafted from a classic Left Bank blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, this medium bodied refined red wine reveals refined notes of black cherry, subtle tannins, spice, and delicate florals.

EYE

Deep ruby red with garnet reflections, showing elegance and concentration.

NOSE

Refined and expressive, with aromas of blackcurrant, plum, violet, and subtle notes of cedar and spice.

MOUTH

Smooth and well-structured, with silky tannins and balanced acidity. Layers of dark fruit, spice, and a touch of oak lead to a long, elegant finish.

PAIRING

Pairs beautifully with roasted meats, duck, lamb, and mushroom dishes. Also ideal with aged cheeses and classic French cuisine.

Château Giscours

Château Giscours is a historic Third Growth estate (classified in 1855) located in the Margaux appellation of Bordeaux. With origins dating back to 1552, the property spans approximately 300 hectares, including around 95 hectares of vineyards planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Known for its elegant, structured wines with refined tannins and aging potential, Giscours combines centuries-old heritage with modern, sustainable vineyard practices, making it one of the benchmark estates of the Médoc.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
