DESCRIPTION

Madiran Les Hautains from Vignobles Crouseilles is a bold and expressive red wine that showcases the power and authenticity of the Southwest of France. Crafted primarily from Tannat, this cuvée reflects the unique balance between structure, fruit, and freshness that defines the Madiran appellation. Generous yet elegant, it captures the richness of the Pyrenean foothills and the savoir-faire of a historic cooperative dedicated to excellence.

EYE

Deep, almost opaque garnet color with violet hues, reflecting concentration and youth.

NOSE

Intense and complex, revealing aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum, layered with notes of cocoa, licorice, and a touch of spice. Subtle hints of vanilla and toasted oak add depth and warmth.

MOUTH

Full-bodied and structured, with firm yet polished tannins. The palate unfolds with rich dark fruit flavors balanced by freshness and minerality. The texture is dense and velvety, leading to a long, persistent finish marked by notes of spice, mocha, and graphite.

PAIRING

Perfect with grilled or roasted red meats, duck confit, game dishes, and aged cheeses. It also pairs beautifully with hearty stews or mushroom-based recipes — ideal for autumn and winter meals shared among friends.

Vignobles Crouseilles

Established in 1950, Vignobles Crouseilles brings together over 130 passionate growers in the heart of Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh. The cooperative is known for its deep respect for terroir and sustainable vineyard practices, producing wines that express both tradition and precision. With vineyards planted on clay and limestone slopes overlooking the Pyrenees, the wines of Crouseilles are renowned for their depth, balance, and distinctive character.

Sud-Ouest

Known as France's hidden corner, this area south of Bordeaux and near the Spanish border has much of the quality of Bordeaux wines but without the high price tags. There are four sub regions each with unique soil, grapes and climate. Like Boardeaux, the vineyards can be found along the Dordogne river where the climate is slightly warmer. The Cahors region is the most famous and is known for being the birth place of the malbec grape. Their wines are aged in oak, deeply inky colored and rich in tannins. Madiran showcases a unique highly tannic red grape call Tannat giving bold dry style red wines. Lasty this region produces excellent approchable and aromatic dry and sweet white wines, from the Côtes de Gascogne with grapes such as Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc or Gros and Petit Manseng. The Sud Ouest region is at the forefront of innovation and sustainability and full of great valued wines to discover and share.
