DESCRIPTION

The Alsace Riesling Réserve 2016 from Domaine Trimbach is a benchmark expression of the grape — dry, precise, and mineral-driven. Crafted from carefully selected hillside vineyards around Ribeauvillé, this wine embodies the house’s signature style: purity, balance, and longevity. The 2016 vintage highlights freshness and structure, offering a perfect harmony of fruit and acidity.

EYE

The wine displays a pale golden-yellow hue with shimmering green reflections, offering brightness and purity in the glass. Its luminous aspect reflects both its youth and freshness, characteristic of a well-balanced dry Riesling.

NOSE

The bouquet is expressive and refined, unfolding with aromas of lemon zest, lime, and white peach, intertwined with notes of green apple, jasmine, and subtle hints of flint and wet stone. As it opens, delicate mineral and floral undertones emerge, showcasing the wine’s depth and precision.

MOUTH

On the palate, the wine is dry, tense, and vibrant. A lively acidity drives flavors of citrus, pear, and green apple, supported by a finely chiseled mineral backbone. The mid-palate reveals a harmonious interplay of freshness and texture, with remarkable clarity. The finish is long and saline, leaving a clean, mouthwatering impression that captures the essence of Trimbach’s elegant, terroir-driven style.

PAIRING

Perfect with shellfish, oysters, and grilled fish, as well as sushi or ceviche. It also pairs beautifully with white meats such as chicken or veal in light sauces, and with vegetarian dishes like asparagus risotto or lemony pasta. The wine’s crisp acidity makes it an ideal match for mildly spicy Asian cuisine and fresh goat cheese. Serve well-chilled to highlight its minerality and vibrant freshness.

Founded in 1626 and based in Ribeauvillé, Maison Trimbach is one of Alsace’s most historic and respected estates. For nearly four centuries, the Trimbach family has produced wines that emphasize balance, structure, and authenticity. Today, under the leadership of Pierre and Jean Trimbach, the estate continues to craft world-class wines from meticulously farmed vineyards across Alsace, uniting tradition and modern precision.

Alsace

With a rich history and geography between the French and German borders, and near the Vosges mountains and the Rhine river, the Alsace region is representative of its mixed cultural heritage. Mostly known for its dry Rieslings, Alsace also produces Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürtztraminer as well as Crémant d'Alsace wines, which is sparkling. 90% of the wines from Alsace are white. Try a Riesling with its floral bouquet and hints of minerality or a Gewurztraminer for its full body and intense aromas of flowers, spices and lychee.
