DESCRIPTION

“Grossi Laüe” from Famille Hugel is a refined and deeply expressive Riesling drawn from selected historic vineyard parcels. The wine opens with notes of lemon zest, white flowers, and subtle stone-fruit, underscored by a firm mineral core. On the palate, it is dry, precise, and finely structured, with lively acidity providing lift and length. A gentle saline nuance contributes depth and clarity. Elegant, persistent, and quietly powerful, this cuvée reflects both the heritage of the Hugel family and the remarkable tension and purity of Alsace’s hillside terroirs.

EYE

Pale gold with bright green reflections that emphasize freshness and tension, while the clarity in the glass reflects meticulous vinification.

NOSE

Aromas of lemon, white peach, and blossom unfold with subtle herbal and mineral notes, creating a refined and layered aromatic profile.

MOUTH

On the palate, the wine is dry, vibrant, and finely textured, with lively acidity supporting layered fruit and a clear mineral backbone. The finish is long, focused, and elegant.

PAIRING

Ideal with oysters, shellfish, grilled fish, alpine cheeses, refined vegetable dishes, or minimalist haute cuisine. Its purity and length make it equally suited to aging or immediate thoughtful enjoyment.

Famille Hugel

Famille Hugel, established in 1639 in the village of Riquewihr, is one of the most iconic and historic wine families in Alsace. For over twelve generations, they have produced wines that reflect the region’s unique terroirs with precision and respect for tradition. Their Gentil cuvée revives the ancestral practice of blending noble grapes, resulting in a wine that is approachable, versatile, and true to the spirit of Alsace.

Alsace

With a rich history and geography between the French and German borders, and near the Vosges mountains and the Rhine river, the Alsace region is representative of its mixed cultural heritage. Mostly known for its dry Rieslings, Alsace also produces Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürtztraminer as well as Crémant d'Alsace wines, which is sparkling. 90% of the wines from Alsace are white. Try a Riesling with its floral bouquet and hints of minerality or a Gewurztraminer for its full body and intense aromas of flowers, spices and lychee.
