DESCRIPTION

Domaine Anne et Sebastien Bidault's Morey-Saint-Denis is a graceful Cote de Nuits Pinot Noir from the village nestled between Gevrey-Chambertin and Chambolle-Musigny. The 2021 offers lifted aromas of red cherry and dark berries with floral violet and a touch of licorice. Elegant and firm on the palate, with fresh acidity and fine-grained tannins, it pairs beautifully with roast beef, veal, poultry, or game.

Domaine Anne et Sébastien Bidault

Domaine Anne et Sébastien Bidault is a tiny family estate in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. Sébastien, a native of Puligny-Montrachet, and Anne, born in Morey-Saint-Denis, released their first vintage in 2000—just 300 bottles of Gevrey-Chambertin—and in 2005 acquired vines in Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, adding Grand Cru Clos de la Roche in 2011. With just under 2 hectares, they farm sustainably with some biodynamic practices and harvest by hand. Wines age 12–18 months in barrel and are lightly filtered, producing pure, terroir-driven Pinot Noir in small quantities. Discover Anne et Sébastien Bidault at Le French Wine Shop, New York.

Burgundy

In Burgundy, the perfect soil and wine growing climate, coupled with a rich multi-generational history in growing grapes and making fine wines, has built Burgundy's extraordinary reputation for producing exceptional wines in 84 appellations. With a focus on pinot noir, chardonnay, gamay and aligoté grapes, the region showcases mostly single varietals. The pinot noir and chardonnay, accounts for the vast majority of the wines produced. There is also some sparkling made, knows as Crémant de Bourgogne. The high limestone content in Burgundy's soils coupled with a usually cool continental climate, produces the best pinot noir and chardonnay in the world. The whites showcase notes and flavors of white flowers, white flesh fruits and sometimes intense minerals, while the reds have scents of black fruits, red berries, spices or black truffle. No wonder, Burgundies where the wine of choice for many French kings, and to this day, remain the best companion for fine dining.
