DESCRIPTION

Château Meyney, located in the heart of Saint-Estèphe, embodies the depth and structure that define this prestigious appellation. Nestled close to the Gironde estuary, its gravel and clay soils enriched with blue marl provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Aged in French oak barrels, this wine reveals a balance between power and refinement. The palate displays dark fruit intensity, layered with notes of tobacco and spice, supported by firm yet polished tannins. Classic and age-worthy, Château Meyney stands as one of Saint-Estèphe's most consistent and characterful estates.

EYE

A deep, opaque ruby-red color with garnet reflections, showing concentration and maturity.

NOSE

The bouquet opens with aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry, and plum, intertwined with hints of cedar, tobacco leaf, and graphite. Subtle undertones of spice and leather emerge as the wine evolves in the glass.

MOUTH

On the palate, it is powerful yet refined, with firm, velvety tannins and a rich core of dark fruit. Layers of cassis, licorice, and roasted coffee unfold harmoniously, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish. Its structure and freshness ensure excellent aging potential.

PAIRING

Ideal with grilled ribeye steak, roast lamb with herbs, or earthy mushroom dishes. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheeses such as Comté or Beaufort.

Château Meyney

One of the oldest estates in the Médoc, Château Meyney traces its origins back to the 17th century. The property is known for its deep-rooted vines and meticulous vineyard management, which yield wines of remarkable balance and longevity. With a focus on expressing terroir through sustainable practices and traditional Bordeaux craftsmanship, Meyney continues to produce wines of distinction and complexity.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
