DESCRIPTION

Amiral de Beychevelle is the second wine of Château Beychevelle and offers a refined, approachable expression of Saint-Julien. The wine opens with notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, supported by subtle floral tones and gentle spice. On the palate, it is smooth and finely structured, with polished tannins giving shape without heaviness. Fresh acidity maintains lift and clarity, leading to a long, balanced finish. Harmonious, elegant, and accessible in its youth, this cuvée reflects the finesse and quiet power characteristic of the appellation.

EYE

Deep garnet-red with bright, focused reflections that suggest both concentration and freshness.

NOSE

Aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and raspberry unfold with hints of violet, cedar, and subtle spice, offering a composed and expressive bouquet.

MOUTH

Smooth and finely structured, with polished tannins supporting ripe fruit flavors. Fresh acidity provides lift, leading to a long and elegant finish marked by subtle mineral and savory nuances.

PAIRING

Ideal with roasted lamb, duck, grilled meats, mushroom dishes, aged cheeses, or refined bistro cuisine. Its balance and finesse make it suitable for both relaxed dining and more thoughtful occasions.

Château Beychevelle

Château Beychevelle is a historic Saint-Julien estate known for producing wines of elegance, depth, and classical balance. The estate emphasizes attentive vineyard care and precise cellar work to highlight purity of fruit and refined structure. Amiral de Beychevelle continues this philosophy, offering a graceful and approachable entry into the château’s style.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
