DESCRIPTION

The Gewürztraminer Vendanges Tardives from Famille Hugel is a rich and opulent late-harvest wine that represents one of Alsace’s greatest traditions. Made from hand-selected, overripe grapes harvested late in the season, this cuvée delivers extraordinary concentration and complexity. Lush, aromatic, and beautifully balanced, it is a wine for contemplation and special occasions.

EYE

This Gewurztraminer displays a deep golden-yellow color with amber reflections, rich and luminous in the glass. Its viscosity hints at concentration and sweetness.

NOSE

The bouquet is intense and complex, with layers of exotic fruits such as lychee, mango, and pineapple, intertwined with rose petals, honey, and sweet spice. A subtle mineral undertone adds elegance and precision.

MOUTH

On the palate, it is full-bodied and unctuous, with flavors of candied tropical fruit, apricot, and orange peel. The sweetness is balanced by a fine acidity that brings freshness and length. The finish is long, silky, and perfumed, leaving a lingering impression of fruit and spice.

PAIRING

A perfect match for foie gras, blue cheeses, or spicy Asian cuisine, it also pairs wonderfully with fruit tarts, crème brûlée, or simply enjoyed on its own as a luxurious dessert wine.

Famille Hugel

Famille Hugel, established in 1639 in the village of Riquewihr, is one of the most iconic and historic wine families in Alsace. For over twelve generations, they have produced wines that reflect the region’s unique terroirs with precision and respect for tradition. Their Gentil cuvée revives the ancestral practice of blending noble grapes, resulting in a wine that is approachable, versatile, and true to the spirit of Alsace.

Alsace

With a rich history and geography between the French and German borders, and near the Vosges mountains and the Rhine river, the Alsace region is representative of its mixed cultural heritage. Mostly known for its dry Rieslings, Alsace also produces Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Gewürtztraminer as well as Crémant d'Alsace wines, which is sparkling. 90% of the wines from Alsace are white. Try a Riesling with its floral bouquet and hints of minerality or a Gewurztraminer for its full body and intense aromas of flowers, spices and lychee.
