DESCRIPTION

The Château La Gironie Monbazillac is a luscious sweet wine from the Dordogne region next to Bordeaux. It is made from botrytized grapes, primarily Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, and Muscadelle. Rich and opulent, it balances honeyed sweetness with fresh acidity, offering complexity and depth. A classic expression of Monbazillac's renowned dessert wines .

EYE

This wine reveals a deep golden-yellow color with amber highlights, luminous and viscous in the glass, indicating concentration and sweetness.

NOSE

The bouquet is rich and aromatic, offering notes of apricot, honey, and candied orange peel. Subtle hints of quince, acacia blossom, and spice add layers of complexity.

MOUTH

On the palate, it is unctuous and silky, with flavors of ripe peach, pineapple, and caramelized citrus. A vibrant acidity keeps the wine balanced, leading to a long, elegant, and honeyed finish.

PAIRING

Perfect with foie gras, blue cheeses, or fruit-based desserts. It also pairs beautifully with almond tart, crème brûlée, or enjoyed on its own as a luxurious after-dinner wine.

Château La Gironie

Château La Gironie is a family-run estate located in the heart of the Monbazillac appellation. The domaine is committed to producing wines that showcase the unique character of this historic region, focusing on careful harvesting of noble rot grapes and precise winemaking to achieve a perfect harmony of richness and freshness.

Sud-Ouest

Known as France's hidden corner, this area south of Bordeaux and near the Spanish border has much of the quality of Bordeaux wines but without the high price tags. There are four sub regions each with unique soil, grapes and climate. Like Boardeaux, the vineyards can be found along the Dordogne river where the climate is slightly warmer. The Cahors region is the most famous and is known for being the birth place of the malbec grape. Their wines are aged in oak, deeply inky colored and rich in tannins. Madiran showcases a unique highly tannic red grape call Tannat giving bold dry style red wines. Lasty this region produces excellent approchable and aromatic dry and sweet white wines, from the Côtes de Gascogne with grapes such as Colombard, Sauvignon Blanc or Gros and Petit Manseng. The Sud Ouest region is at the forefront of innovation and sustainability and full of great valued wines to discover and share.
