DESCRIPTION

The Bordeaux Rouge Chateleufe, selected by Herzog, is a semi-dry kosher wine crafted from classic Bordeaux varietals. Grown on gravel and clay-limestone soils, the grapes benefit from the temperate Atlantic climate that ensures balanced ripening. Vinified with care to preserve fruit expression, this semi-dry style highlights both freshness and roundness. Smooth and approachable, it combines the character of Bordeaux tradition with a modern, versatile profile. Certified kosher, it is suitable for a wide range of occasions, offering both authenticity and accessibility.

EYE

This wine displays a deep ruby-red color with purple reflections, highlighting its youth and vibrancy.

NOSE

The nose is expressive, revealing red berry aromas of cherry and raspberry, layered with subtle floral notes and a touch of spice.

MOUTH

On the palate, it is supple and fruit-forward, with flavors of ripe red fruits and soft tannins. A hint of sweetness rounds out the texture, balanced by a fresh acidity and a smooth, easy finish.

PAIRING

The Bordeaux Rouge Semi-Dry pairs well with roasted chicken, grilled vegetables, or soft cheeses. Its approachable style also makes it a versatile companion for casual meals and festive gatherings.

Chateneuf Herzog

The Chateleufe label, selected by Herzog, represents quality Bordeaux wines adapted for kosher certification. Produced with respect for tradition and crafted to meet kosher standards, these wines combine regional authenticity with accessibility. The 2021 Bordeaux Rouge reflects this vision, offering a smooth, semi-dry expression of the Bordeaux terroir.

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is the largest and possibly the most famous wine region in France marked by it's rich history beginning in Roman times. Back in 1885, several Châteaux were classified into grand crus with five quality levels which still exist today. As a port town, its unique geography is built around the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers which have created it's famous left bank (Medoc) and right banks (Pomerol and Saint-Émilion) and the Entre-Deux-Mers (between two "seas" or rivers) regions. 90% of Bordeaux wine is red with artful blending of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot and sometimes malbec. Wines showcase a full range of taste profiles from earthy with strong and dry tannins to softer and smoother with notes of plum, black fruits. There are the go to French wines with red meat dishes.
