In Burgundy, the perfect soil and wine growing climate, coupled with a rich multi-generational history in growing grapes and making fine wines, has built Burgundy's extraordinary reputation for producing exceptional wines in 84 appellations. With a focus on pinot noir, chardonnay, gamay and aligoté grapes, the region showcases mostly single varietals. The pinot noir and chardonnay, accounts for the vast majority of the wines produced.
