DESCRIPTION

Coteaux du Giennois Blanc from Domaine de Villargeau is a crisp and elegant Loire Valley white wine made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc. Grown on limestone and flint soils along the Loire River, this cuvée offers a refined balance between aromatic intensity, minerality, and freshness. Pure and expressive, it reflects both the charm of the Coteaux du Giennois appellation and the precision of the estate's winemaking.

EYE

Pale gold with green reflections, clear and brilliant, suggesting freshness and vivacity.

NOSE

Expressive and precise, opening with aromas of citrus, grapefruit, and lime zest, complemented by hints of white peach, elderflower, and flint. The bouquet is both aromatic and mineral, typical of Loire Sauvignon.

MOUTH

Lively and well-balanced, with bright acidity and a fine, mineral texture. Flavors of lemon, green apple, and gooseberry unfold harmoniously, leading to a crisp, saline finish that lingers with purity and elegance.

PAIRING

Perfect with oysters, shellfish, sushi, grilled fish, or goat cheese. It also pairs beautifully with light salads, vegetable dishes, and seafood pastas — ideal for aperitifs or fresh, refined meals.

Domaine de Villargeau

Located near Cosne-sur-Loire, just north of Sancerre, Domaine de Villargeau is a family-owned estate run by the Gault family. The domaine covers about 25 hectares of sustainably farmed vineyards planted on marl, limestone, and silex soils. The Gaults’ meticulous work in both vineyard and cellar results in wines that are vibrant, balanced, and faithful to their terroir — fresh expressions of Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir from this hidden gem of the Loire.

Loire

With 2,000 years of history featuring kings'castles and fortresses, the Loire Valley is home to 31 appelations, starting in the Muscadet to the west near the Atlantic Ocean, passing by Chinon, Vouvray and the Touraine in the middle, to end to the famous village of Sancerre, located all the way to the East. This region cultivates 24 grape varietals which offer a very diverse tasting and culinary experience. From mineral whites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc or Melon de Bourgogne (aka grape use in Muscadet) to light and spicy reds, such as Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir or Gamay. It is also France's third largest wine growing region, featuring a temperate climate and diverse terroirs influenced by the Atlantic ocean and the proximity of the Loire river. Enjoy white loire wines with goat cheese or seafood, and the reds with spicy cuisine and vegeterian dishes.
