DESCRIPTION

Côtes du Rhône “Lou Pontias” by Boissy & Delaygue is a fruit-forward southern Rhône red blend crafted from classic grapes like Syrah and Grenache. Produced under the Côtes du Rhône AOC, this wine reflects the warm, windy terroir of the Southern Rhône Valley, its name referencing the powerful local “Pontias” wind.

Expect a medium- to full-bodied, dry red wine with notes of blackberry, violet, and spice, balanced by smooth tannins and fresh acidity. It’s an easy-drinking yet structured wine, ideal for everyday enjoyment.

Made with a focus on sustainable viticulture, it delivers excellent value and broad appeal.

Union des Vignerons des Côtes du Rhône (UVCDR)

The Union des Vignerons des Côtes du Rhône (UVCDR) is one of the most influential wine cooperatives in the Rhône Valley, France. Founded in 1967, it brings together thousands of growers across the region, pooling expertise and vineyard resources to produce consistent, high-quality Rhône wines at scale.
Best known for brands like Cellier des Dauphins and curated lines such as Boissy & Delaygue, the cooperative combines traditional Rhône grape varieties—including Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre with modern winemaking techniques.
UVCDR is also recognized for its commitment to sustainable viticulture, supporting growers in environmentally responsible farming and vineyard management.

Rhône

The Rhône Valley takes its name from the majestuous river, which anchors its geographical beauty from the Alps mountains and run into the Mediterranean sea to the South. The dominant sunshine and pleasant breezes of this large valley creates a perfect climate for grapes growth such as Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre (GSM) for the reds, Grenache Blanc or Gris, Viognier and Marsanne-Roussanne for the whites. North of Montelimar, the Syrah is the dominant single red variety planted, which can resist to cooler semi-continental climate; while south of the town, the warmer, dryer Mediterranean climate produces generous red blends with Grenache dominance. Thanks to an easy growing climate, the Rhône winemakers have been among the pioneers of sustainable and environmental practices and they have been producing world class quality red wines such as the reknown Côtes-du-Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the South or the Côte Rotie and Hermitage in the North. The choices and pleasures of these wines are endless, especially with grilled red meats, sausages or spicy cuisine.
