DESCRIPTION

Côtes du Roussillon Villages Carrément Rouge – Domaine de l’Edre is a powerful, small-production red blend from Roussillon, France, made in a Rhône-inspired style from Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvèdre.

The wine is full-bodied and structured, showing ripe blackberry, plum, garrigue herbs, pepper, and licorice, with firm yet polished tannins and a long, savory finish. Produced in the sun-drenched village of Vingrau, it reflects the region’s warm Mediterranean climate while maintaining balance and freshness.

Ideal with grilled lamb, steak, game, and aged cheeses, this is a bold, expressive Southern French red built for richness and moderate aging.

Domaine de l'Edre

Domaine de l’Edre is a boutique wine estate in Vingrau, Roussillon (Southern France) producing limited-production, terroir-driven wines focused on intensity, balance, and Mediterranean expression. Known for blends of Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Mourvèdre, the domaine crafts structured reds with notes of dark fruit, garrigue, spice, and mineral depth, often with excellent aging potential.
A small, quality-focused producer, Domaine de l’Edre is recognized for delivering powerful yet elegant wines that reflect the sun-drenched limestone and schist soils of Roussillon.

Languedoc-Roussillon

The Languedoc-Roussillon region, located west of Provence and South of the Rhône valley, on the Mediterranean Sea, is the largest wine region of France. It is known for its rich wine and culinary history influenced by the Roman period and its mediterranean culture and climate. Benefiting from "usually" good growing conditions, winemaking creativity and experimentation thrive here, as new generations of producers have focused on premium wines and organic or natural farming. Native red grape varieies such as Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Carignan, Cinsault result usually into bold and smooth red blends with always a touch of earthiness or dry herbs. This region is diverse and exiciting in its offerings, and offer a wide range of wines from simple single varietals to sophisticated red blends that will compete against the best wines in the world. Enjoy Languedoc wines with grilled meat or fish (for the whites), lamb stews, or any mediterranean dishes.
