DESCRIPTION

"Clos du Chapitre" from Domaine de la Grand'Cour expresses the charm and elegance of Saint-Amour through a refined and nuanced interpretation of Gamay. The wine opens with red berry and floral aromas, followed by subtle spice and a hint of mineral lift. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, with fine tannins and fresh acidity providing clarity and precision. A gentle touch of earthiness adds depth without compromising the wine's graceful, airy character. Harmonious and inviting, it offers immediate pleasure while also rewarding short-term cellaring.

EYE

Bright ruby-red with delicate, transparent reflections that emphasize freshness and finesse, while the clarity in the glass highlights precise and careful vinification.

NOSE

Aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, and raspberry unfold alongside subtle floral tones, gentle spice, and a light earthy nuance that evokes the characteristic charm of Saint-Amour.

MOUTH

On the palate, the wine is silky and lifted, with fine tannins supporting fresh fruit. Lively acidity brings poise and balance, while subtle mineral tension contributes length and detail to the finish.

PAIRING

Pairs beautifully with roasted poultry, charcuterie, chèvre, mushroom dishes, or grilled salmon. Its elegance and versatility make it ideal for both relaxed convivial moments and thoughtful, refined meals.

Domaine de la Grand’Cour

Domaine de la Grand’Cour, led by the Dutraive family, is one of the historic and benchmark estates of Beaujolais. The domaine works organically, favoring minimal intervention and gentle extraction to preserve purity and finesse. Their wines are known for their expressive aromatics, delicate structure, and transparent expression of terroir, reflecting a deep respect for tradition and craftsmanship.

Beaujolais

The Beaujolais is a small region of Eastern France just south of Burgundy-Mâconnais and North of Lyon city. The red and rosé wines are made mostly from gamay grapes with vibrant and fruity taste profiles. A little amount of Beaujolais white is also made from the Chardonnay grape. The particularity of the Beaujolais reds, is the fermentation with whole clusters, so called "carbonic maceration" which accentuates the fruitiness of the gamay grape and results in lighter alcohol wines, easier to drink. The region is famous for its "Beaujolais nouveau", which are youthful red wines made on the same year as the harvest occurs. The region is also known for its prestigious 10 villages which are known as crus and showcase different tasting profiles and age-worthy potential.
